Ved foten av Jotunheimen ligger Bygdin Fjellhotell fritt til i høyfjellet på 1065 m.o.h. Et historisk hotell som har vært i drift siden 1912 med unik sjarm. Fantastisk beliggende for skiturer og fotturer i høyfjellet, langt fra annen bebyggelse (12 km nord for Beitostølen på fylkesvei 51) og omkranset av nært beliggende fjelltopper på inntil 2100 m.o.h. som Besseggen. Utmerket utgangspunkt for DNT-stier. På vannet Bygdin går båten M/B Bitihorn jevnlig til Torfinnsbu og Eidsbugarden på sommerstid. Fra vinterferie til påske er veien åpen fra Beitostølen, og fra mars-april er det adkomst også via Valdresflya nordfra. 3,5 t fra Oslo, 5 t fra Trondheim, 5,5 t fra Bergen. Gode bussforbindelser i sommerhalvåret med Valdresekspressen.
