Stiftelsens formål er å stimulere og bidra til klinisk og
eksperimentell forskning utgått fra Nasjonalt Kompetansesenter for
Avansert Laparoskopisk Kirurgi og Gastroenterologisk seksjon,
kirurgisk avdeling, Regionsykehuset i Trondheim, samt å bidra til
kompetanseheving og etterutdannelse innen mini-invasiv og
gastroenterologisk kirurgi av leger ansatt ved disse to enheter og
medlemmer av den opprinnelige organisasjonskomite for EAES 4 kongress
i Trondheim i 1996.
