Forbundet har som formål å fremme kirkesang og gudstjenesteliv i Den
norske kirke i samsvar med kirkens bekjennelse ved: å ivareta våre
kirkemusikalske tradisjoner, å fremme medlemmenes kirkemusikalske og
liturgiske forståelse og faglige innsikt, å stimulere til nytenking og
fornying av menighetssang og korsang, å styrke fellesskapet i vårt
forbund. Forbundet skal drive voksenopplæring og studiearbeid.
