Stiftinga har som føremål å gje ålmenn informasjon om sjukdommen tuberkulose (tbc) i fortid og notid. Gjennom informasjonsverksemd og museumsdrift vil ein både få fram folkekampen som gjekk føre seg i Noreg fram til 1970-åra og korleis sjukdommen vart overvunnen. Ein vil dessutan gje informasjon om kva slags trugsmål tbc representerer i dag, både nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Dette omfattar også ei synleggjering av korleis sjukdommen i si tid påverka det norske samfunnet, og korleis innsatsen frå private organisasjonar og det offentlege førte til at kampen mot tbc var vunnen. Utstillingane på senteret rettar seg både mot helsepersonale, mot folk i helseutdanning, og mot folk flest.
