I følgje vedtektene skal Herøy sogelag samle og ta vare på alt som har
og kan få historisk verdi i bygdene (i Herøy). Arbeide for å få
utgjeve bygdesoge for Herøy. Gje ut årsskrift med lokalhistorisk
innhald. I tillegg produserer Herøy sogelag kvart år ein Herøykalender
basert på lokalhistorisk bildemateriale. Laget har elles ulike former
møteverksemd i tillegg til styremøta og årsmøtet.
