Søndre Helgeland Miljøverk IKS (Shmil) er ditt lokale renovasjonsselskap. Sammen tar vi vare på Helgeland!
Selskapets formål er på vegne av eierkommunene å drive innsamling,
transport, behandling og omsetning av avfall og alt som naturlig hører
med til dette i eierkommunene, samt delta i eller etablere andre
selskaper til utøvelse av virksomheten innenfor denne
formålsangivelse. I tillegg til dette formålet skal selskapet søke å
redusere avfallsmengdene, utnytte ressursene i avfallet og behandle
avfallet på en måte som fullt ut tilfredsstiller miljømessige krav som
myndighetene stiller.
Vi gjenvinner papp, papir, drikkekartong, metall, plast, fraksjonerer
treverk som leveres som råvarer til utvalgte bedrifter. Produksjon av
kompost og fyllmasse. Gjenvinning står for ca 70% av driften,
deponi/mottak for resterende 30%.
