Stiftelsens formål er å styrke landbruksnæringens anseelse blant befolkningen særlig i Akershus. Herunder å styrke aktiviteter som tar sikte på å gi økt informasjon om landbruket, styrke samarbeidet og kontakten mellom ulike landbruksmiljøer om faglig aktivitet og informasjonsvirksomhet. Videre kan det ytes bidrag til ulike prosjekter, herunder prosjekter i regi av studenter, og faglige tiltak som har til formål å fremme landbruket i bynære områder.
