haldarar av gjetarhund. NSG skal arbeide for å fremje eit rasjonelt og
lønsamt sau- og geitehald basert på lokale ressursar, samt bruk av
gjetarhund. Vidare skal det arbeidast for å tryggje beiteretten,
stimulere til samarbeid i produksjon og omsetnad, auka bruk av norske
småfeprodukt og fremje småfehaldet i samsvar med god dyrevelferd,
naturvilkår og marknadstilhøve.
