Arbeide for å samle oppstartsbedrifter for å forbedre det sørlandske økosystemet for tidligfasebedrifter på Sørlandet. For å oppnå dette, skal Innovation Lab ta en aktiv rolle for å bedre rammebetingelsene for oppstarts- og tidligfaseselskaper. Innovation Lab skal bidra til at tidligfase- og oppstartselskaper har de nødvendige ressursene tilgjengelig, slik at de er i stand til å vokse. Denne jobben skal gjøres ved å ta en aktiv rolle for å stimulere samskapningsaktiviteter og derigjennom skape nye kompetansearbeidsplasser.
