Stiftelsen administrerer etter inngått avtale med Forsvaret
bygningene,inventar nr.009, 1001, 1002 og nr. 1004 i Møvik Fort og
det utstyr som forefinnes og som var knyttet til 38 cm. kanonene i
VARA batteri til følgende formål:
I samråd med Forsvarsmusset å bevare kanonstillingen med bygning,
inventar nr. 1004 og tekniske innretninger som et forsvarshistorisk
kulturminne for ettertiden.
Å drive anlegget som et museum, åpent for publikum i perioder.
Gjennom museet å drive undervisning om norsk forsvarshistorie med
bred vekt på Kristiansands bys forsvarshistorie.
På sikt søke etablert et forsvarshistorisk museum i Kristiansand lagt
til inventar nr.1005.
