Skolen blir driftet etter de retningslinjer som er vedtatt av årsmøtet, i tillegg til de krav som gjelder tildeling av statstilskudd. Skolen er en frittstående institusjon som ikke er tilsluttet noe politisk parti, livssyn eller trossamfunn.
