Stiftelsens formål er å være en viktig kulturformidler, bidragsyter og gi økonomisk bistand til å drive Roald Amundsen fødested «Tomta» i Fredrikstad kommune. Stiftelsen skal samarbeide med eieren av Roald Amundsen fødested, næringslivet og kulturinstitusjoner, både lokalt, nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Bransjen vil da være kulturformidling.
