OBOS er en av Nordens største boligbyggere, eid av nær en halv million medlemmer.

Laget har til formål å skaffe de fremtidige andelseierne bolig ved å erverve boligbygg og leie ut boliger i slike bygg til andelseierne. Laget har dessuten til formål å erverve andre bygg enn boligbygg (f.eks garasjer) som skal brukes til felles formål for andelseierne, eller lokalene i byggene skal utleies i sammenheng med lagets øvrige virksomhet. Videre har laget til formål å organisere og forvalte andre tiltak som har sammenheng med andelseiernes bointeresser.

Skaffe andelseiere bolig ved å leie ut boliger i de bygg laget eier til andelseierne.
