Anlegget omfatter hovedledningsnett med pumpekummer, stikkledningsnett, pumper knyttet til fremføring og bruk for de enkelte medlemmene, føringsveier og ellers den infrastruktur som er nødvendig for et fullverdig vann- og avløpsnett på Faratangen til benyttelse for medlemmene. Selskapet har ikke økonomisk genvinst som formål, og selskapet skal ikke utdele utbytte. Medlemmenes interesser som nevnt ovenfor kan også fremmes gjennom deltakelse i et foretak som samvirkeforetak eier alene eller sammen med andre samvirkeforetak, jf samvirkeloven § 1 tredje ledd.
