Vestfoldmuseene IKS skal drive og videreutvikle museum og arkiv i
selskapet ved å: forvalte samlinger, kunst- og kulturistoriske
gjenstander, arkiv og immateriell kulturarv. Drive aktiv
samlingsutvikling. Dokumentere, forske i, og formidle lokal, regional,
nasjonal kunst, kulturarv og kulturhistorie. Være en tydelig
samfunnsaktør. Utføre eksterne oppdrag innenfor arkiv og
kulturhistorie. Følge ICOMs og ICAs etiske regelverk.
Alle enhetene til deltakerkommunene skal videreføres som en del av
selskapet. I selskapets budsjetter og planer skal aktivitetene for
hver enkelt enhet klart fremgå.
Selskapet skal ikke eie samlinger, bygninger el., men disponere disse
iht. samarbeidsavtaler mellom eierne av disse og selskapet.
