Foreningens formål er å knytte medlemmer av sjømannsstanden og andre
interesserte sammen, gi dem anledning til å bistå hverandre i råd og
dåd, virke for alt som kan tjene sjømannsstanden og sjøfartens
interesser og heve standens rettigheter i samfunnet. Foreningen vil
arbeide for dette formålet ved møter, foredrag, diskusjoner, avishold
og lignende. Foreningen er upolitisk.
