Å utvirke til at vi, i Norge, kan skape en sterkere kultur med hensyn
til interessen for og kunnskapen om familie- og slektsforhold, samt
kjennskap til slektsgransking. Stiftelsen skal arbeide med sikte på at
nevnte emner blir innpasset i skolens undervisning i passende
alderstrinn for barn og ungdom. Stiftelsen skal opprettholde,
vedlikeholde og videreføre slektshistorien som er nedtegnet i
databasen: «Slekter fra Sør-Helgeland». Slektshistorien er et
databasebasert prosjekt som inneholder informasjon i tekst og bilder
om folk som har bodd på Sør-Helgeland, eller har slekts- eller
familietilknytning til dem.
