Drive forskning , formidling, utvikling og nyskaping i aktivt
samarbeid med private og offentlige virksomheter og andre forsknings-
og utdanningsmiljøer. Stiftelsen skal arbeide i nært samarbeid med
Nord Universitet. Gjennom forskningsselskapet Nordlandsforkning AS
skal stiftelsen bygge opp og videreutvikle kompetanse på et høyt
nasjonalt og internasjonalt nivå og støtte opp om forskning og
undervisning i Nordland. Det skal være et mål for virksomheten å
styrke næringsliv og forvaltning, så vel lokalt som nasjonalt.
