Personer i studiesituasjon eller opplæring som har heimstavn i eller er vokst opp i Steinkjer kommune, og som uforskyldt er kommet i en særlig vanskelig livssituasjon, kan søke legatet om økonomisk støtte. Videre kan virksomheter som driver opplæring eller undervisning, søke om bidrag til ekstraordinære, kunnskapsfremmende tiltak. Utdeling skal foretas i første halvdel av kalenderåret, etter kunngjøring i dagspressen og/eller lokale aviser i Steinkjer. I de tilfeller legatmidlene har dekt utgifter til vedlikehold av gravsteder, skal dette fortsette så lenge gravstedene består.
