Føremålet med selskapet er at det skal drive turistnæring i Hardanger
regionen basert på dei nasjonale økoturist prinsippa. Intensjonen er
at Hardanger Ecotourism ANS skal fungere som ein portal for all
økobasert turisme i Hardanger. Næringsverksemda skal i hovudsak drive
formidling og sal av økoturist produkt som øko-overnatting, guida
turar i ulike økosystem og marknadsføring/sal av øko-mat frå
Hardanger. Øko-begrepet i denne samanheng omfattar både reine
økologiske produkt og lokalbaserte, såkalla kortreiste produkt.
