Norsk filminstitutt ...
Virksomheten skal være statens forvaltningsorgan for filmpolitikken,
og vil være rådgivende overfor Kultur- og kirkedepartementet i
filmpolitiske spørsmål. Hovedoppgaven vil være å forvalte
tilskuddsordninger og andre virkemidler for bl.a. utvikling,
produksjon og distribusjon av norske audiovisuelle produksjoner.
Institusjonen skal aktivt fremme filmkulturen og den norske filmarven
til et bredt publikum.
